ICA Charitable Donations for 2002

In 2002, the ICA concentrated on providing funds to assist the Portland Parks Bureau in creating a kid-friendly splash pool for Irving Park, a city park adjacent to the Irvington Grade School.  While the contribution from the Tour was substantial, additional funds were needed and have been accumulated since.  As of January, 2004, nearly $50,000 had been assembled by the ICA for this purpose.  A total of $11,000 has come from Home Tour funds (most from the 2002 Tour) with the balance from private donations, and matching funds.

While a substantial amount of money, the $50,000 amount was below the most recent contractors' estimates. Work is under way to determine how to bring this project to completion given the available resources.

For more information about the Irving Park water feature project, see the meeting minutes and newsletter back issues on the ICA's organization website: www.irvingtonpdx.com

The Irvington Community Association also maintains a website to provide services internal to the Irvington Community.  We invite all Irvington neighbors and others interested in NE Portland community affairs to visit that site as well.
