ICA Charitable Donations for 2004

With substantial coverage of Home Tour expenses through sponsorships (please patronize our sponsors!) increasing proportions of Home Tour proceeds are now available for the Charitable Giving Program.  In 2004, the ICA was able to award 13 gifts totalling $13,500 to area organizations:

  • Augustana Academy - funds to support student scholarships for this non-denominational, non-profit after-school program.

  • Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) - funds to assist with a support group for victims of domestic violence.

  • Grant High School Senior Class - support for the drug-and-alcohol-free graduation night party.

  • Irvington Elementary School  - purchase of library books

  • Housing Authority of Portland - funding of visiting nurse and on-site care services at two facilities in Irvington.  These services had been cut back due to funding reductions

  • Irvington Preschool - support for their arts enrichment program.  Irvington Preschool operates at Augustana Lutheran Church in Irvington

  • Hancock Street Preschool - assistance for special care for a student with cerebral palsy and other programs

  • Kinship House - support for their programs of mental health and adoption preparation services for hard-to place foster children

  • Kids on the Block - funding for an innovative series of puppetry performance for Irvington Elementary School children aimed at better nutrition choices

  • Northeast Community Child Development Center - arts enrichment support for their child-care program at Westminster Presbyterian Church

  • Project Linkage -assistance for yard work projects for elderly or disabled homeowners

  • Loaves & Fishes/Meals on Wheels - providing meals to homebound seniors

  • Sabin Elementary School - purchase of library books

The Irvington Community Association also maintains a website to provide services internal to the Irvington Community.  We invite all Irvington neighbors and others interested in NE Portland community affairs to visit that site as well.
