The elegance and proportion of the entry detailing is strikingly visible in this view.  The Palladian window above the door and its sidelights repeats the pattern of the entry door itself and marks this unmistakably as the main entrance.  The projecting cornice completes the frame around the entry composition.  The position of the dormers places them centered between the pairs of relief columns on either side of the door, a refinement often missing in the average Colonial Revival home.  Even Whidden and Lewis, Portland's premier exponents of the Colonial Revival style, never bettered this fine example of the genre.
