The 17-stop roll player Estey pipe organ (recorded as the firm's Opus #1430) was built in Brattleboro, Vermont, specifically for this residence.  The organ features an ornate console; the pipes above are decorative only.  The main mechanism is fit into a room on the second floor behind lattice work and contains bellows and wood and metal pipes.  In the attic there is a room containing more wood and metal pipes as well as glass “chimes.”  Music is broadcast through channels in the attic and back downstairs through the cast plaster ceiling grates in the elegant living room.  The closet to left of console contains more than 200 rolls.    Music from the organ was broadcast live during the early days of radio over KGW (owned by The Oregonian newspaper).
