This light-flooded breakfast nook is an addition by the current owners. Great care was taken to incorporate windows in the design which matched elements elsewhere in the house. So complete was the match that the Oregon Office of Historic Preservation (charged with monitoring changes to homes on the National Register of Historic Places which are on the Special Assessment Program), objected to the possibility that this addition could be interpreted as part of the original design. To accommodate this concern, the owners placed a marker on the outside of this addition, showing its date in Roman numerals.
