This house is modern where it counts -- especially in the kitchen where the owners' joy in cooking plays out with gourmet quality appliances and the convenience of the island layout.  Yet early American styled cabinetry fits the period of the house.  Typically, kitchen lighting in the early 20th Century was simple but effective as seen here with the plain green glass shades on basic fixtures.
