An Architypal Craftsman Four-Square from 1909 -- Completely Restored The projecting bay in the living room facing the street is made elegant by leaded and beveled glass windows and the inviting bench seating. Coved ceilings helped make the ceilings look higher for buyers who had grown up in Victorian homes with 12 or 16 foot high ceilings. One of the key features of homes of the Craftsman era was their lower ceilings... which made rooms easier to heat in the winter. |
