The Francis and Annie Seufert House
1511 NE Knott Street

Stately Colonial Revival Home in the Grand Tradition

Colonial Revival design was at its high water mark when Edmund Mautz designed this house for his family.  True to style, the house has the curved muttons and delicate tracery in the dormer and sidelights.  Classical detailing like the dentil moldings beneath the roof eaves complete the picture.  Still, the influence of Craftsman style has its quiet say in the clearly defined rafter tails projecting under those eaves, a feature unlikely to have been found in 18th Century New England.
