This view of the back of the house from the gardens shows the brand new extension that provided space for a modern, enlarged kitchen and breakfast area plus more space for bathrooms and bedrooms on the second floor.  Note the siding -- a mix of standard clapboards on the first floor, and patterned shingles on the second -- match the original parts of the house exactly, as do the windows and bracket details.
